Add a User and Grant Root Privileges on CentOS 6.5

Step 1: Add the User

adduser mynewuser

Set the password for the new user:

passwd mynewuser

Step 2: Grant Root Privileges to the User

visudo

Find the following code:

## Allow root to run any commands anywhere
root ALL=(ALL) ALL

mynewuser ALL=(ALL) ALL

Save the file with the command :wq .

Installing text mode setup tool

yum install setuptool system-config-securitylevel-tui authconfig system-config-network-tui ntsysv

 

setuptool : text setup tool console
system-config-securitylevel-tui : for configuring the firewall
authconfig : for configuring authentication
system-config-network-tui : for configuring the network
ntsysv : for configuring the system services

Go to your host, click the configuration tab, click “advanced settings”, go to “UserVars” and scroll all the way down to “UserVars.SuppressShellWarning” change the value from 0 to 1.

Capture

 

services.sh restart
